Indian cricketers also have to clean toilets(Updated)
The Indian cricket team has finally gone to Brisbane. But upon reaching the hotel, Rahane felt sure why I agreed to come. I don’t think that’s why they have to clean the toilet in the hotel in Brisbane.
India and Australia have reached Brisbane today after playing the third Test in Sydney. India grew up in a five-star hotel called Sofitel. The hotel, four kilometers from Gabba, the venue of the fourth Test, seems like a ‘prison’ to Indian cricketers.
Not just Brisbane, but the entire Queensland state is experiencing a severe lockdown. The state government has taken this step after a new corona infection in neighboring Sydney, New South Wales. In the beginning, the Queensland state government said that both India and Australia should be under strict quarantine. India did not agree to go to Brisbane on that condition. After much discussion, India agreed to ease the austerity.
Under the new conditions, cricketers will no longer have to be confined to their rooms in hotels. You can go to each other’s rooms. Players will also be able to practice on the field from the hotel. However, after arriving in Brisbane, Indian cricketers are facing some more restrictions. Indian team sources said the restrictions were not in their imagination.
An Indian team member told the Indian media about their plight, “I am somehow trapped in a hotel room. We have to make our beds and clean our toilets. The food is coming from a nearby Indian restaurant, which is being delivered to our floor. We can’t go from one floor to another. The whole hotel is empty but we can’t use the swimming pool. All cafes and restaurants in the hotel are also closed. Although he can use the gym, it is not of international standard, said a BCCI official.
The Indian cricket board has contacted the BCCI in such a predicament. BCCI officials have contacted Cricket Australia after hearing this news. They have asked Cricket Australia to take immediate action.
After arriving at the hotel in India, Naki objected to the hotel authorities. But the hotel authorities said they have nothing to do. And India and Australia have the same arrangement for both the teams. And to reduce the risk of infection, they have given leave to most of the employees.
The fourth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is starting from January 15. The series is currently tied at 1–1. India will win the Test series on Australian soil for the second time in a row if they avoid defeat in the last Test.
After returning to the country, Indian cricketers will have to stay in isolation for two weeks. Then they will have to go down to play against England from February 5.
